Housing Information
The military provides two options for the use of your Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
The first option is living on base. Your second option is using your BAH to rent or buy a home off base. 

• The Housing Services Office (253) 967-3581 or (253) 912-2150 can answer all of your housing questions. Contact the HMO as soon as you know you are moving. You will be provided with the latest information on local housing as well as referral services and relocation assistance. They offer counseling and guidance before entering into a lease agreement and help resolve tenant-landlord disputes.

McChord Field On Base Housing

• The Unaccompanied Housing Office (253) 982-7479 is reserved for airmen in the ranks of E1-E3 and E4 with less than 3 years of service. You are provided with private sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens and supplies required for comfortable living.
  
  
• McChord AFB on-base housing is privatized and provided by Lincoln Military Housing (253) 912-2112, which offers 21 distinct, pet friendly communities with about 4,500 single family units, townhomes and duplexes based on rank and family size. Some home amenities could include paid utilities, extra storage, walk-in closets and attached/detached garages. Some of the community amenities include proximity to American Lake, outdoor pool, movie theater, parks, golf-course and more. Keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on-base housing, which may include wait times.
